Qtcf.dll File

Can you please explain what is actually happening? I'm sorry you are having trouble, but if you can give us some details, then it will help us massively in getting a solution to you. Is HitFilm giving you some sort of error message about Quicktime? Are you trying to import Quicktime files and getting an error message? Are the files importing but not available within Hitfilm? What version of Quicktime do you have installed, and if you are having trouble importing specific videos, what codec to they use?

Thanks for that. First of all, there shouldn't be a 'QuickTime' folder under the 'FXhome' folder. By any chance did you copy that there while trying to fix the problem? If so, please remove that; it's not needed. I think the problem is that another application has (incorrectly) installed an older version of QTCF.dll into that 'Windows SysWOW64' folder. Because this older QTCF.dll is in that special folder, it gets found and loaded first, and it doesn't have the required functionality that HitFilm needs, so you end up getting the error message.

Can you try the following please: 1. Berklee College of Music. Remove the 'QuickTime' folder under 'FXhome' 2.

Move the QTCF.dll from 'C: Windows SysWOW64' to your Desktop. Try running HitFilm Assuming HitFilm now works, you'll also need to run your other applications (particularly QuickTime Player, along with other video-editing and media apps) to make sure that they still work, since one of them presumably installed the old version of QTCF.dll into that SysWOW64 folder.

In the vast majority of cases, the solution is to properly reinstall qtcf.dll on your PC, to the Windows system folder. Alternatively, some programs, notably PC games, require. Support Checklist. A list of available resources that you can use to find the answers that you are looking for. Search your system for the file QTCF.dll.

However, I believe everything should work fine since the other applications should get the QTCF.dll from its correct location: Program Files QuickTime. If everything works fine then you can safely delete the QTCF.dll that you moved to your Desktop. But if a particular application fails to work, then you'll have to move the DLL back into that SysWOW64 folder. : No, i dont have ' C: Program Files (x86) QuickTime QTSystem' in my path environment variable. At least when i looked in the command prompt, if I opened my ' advanced system settings' in the control panel, i could see that the QTSYSTEM path was located at the end of my PATH variable, so I concluded with that the PATH variable was too long for the DOS environment (command prompt). I then cleaned my PATH variable somewhat, and got it shorter, and VOILA then I could see the QTSYSTEM path at the end of my PATH variable in the command prompt. And I then could start HitFilm 2 with SUCCESS!!

So the Lesson is: Dont have a too long PATH Variable, if the QTSystem path is at the end of the PATH variable string, it might just be cut out!! So either then move it to the beginning of the PATH variable string or make the PATH variable string shorter, though try not to delete essential PATHS that you most likely would need! Thanks Hendo, for leading me in the right direction!!
