Msiexec Uninstall Windows 7
Jul 08, 2011 I am having some issues getting Adobe Reader X installed on a Windows 7 64 bit machine. I noticed that there are two msiexec, exe files. There is a msiexec. Msiexec /fpecms Example.msi. To uninstall a product. Windows Installer command-line options are not case-sensitive. How to uninstall with msiexec using product id. Microsoft Windows CurrentVersion Uninstall. Tagged wix windows-installer uninstall msiexec or ask.
I first noticed this problem while trying to install visual studio and the installation froze, same with microsoft office and directX. With no time for error localization, i just reinstalled windows which solved the problem. Now, with an almost fresh install of windows the problem re-appeared. I noticed it while installing drivers to my phone (HTC sync).
If i look at msiexec in the task manager I can see that it constantly consumes 25% cpu (i have a dual core with HT). Tried installing directx to see if it too freezes which it does when the status message says its copying d3dx924.dll. I've tried disabling UAC, registering msiexec, checking for virues (no anti-virus software running at the time of installation).
I have no idea of where to go from here. Regards Patrik. I cannot intall program software on my computer. It appears the the Windows installer is not working or does not exist. I did the services.msc and set to Automatic and Started. I ran CMD sfc/scannow. I tired to unreg msiexec but the file cannot be found. I tried regserver for the msiexec but nothing found or happen.
I ran windowms program to fix install and program uninstall, which did allow me to remove bad JAVA program and updates. I downloaded new version of JAVA. Looked foir Windows 7 version of Windows Installer but nothing found except the 4.5, which does not say Windows 7. Bottom Line: I just think the msiexec file is not on my computer or can't be found. When I try to loadQuicken WillMaker it will not start due to no qwpinstaller.msi file.
The next best option then is to download a copy of Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 that corresponds with the edition you have installed and do a repair upgrade: Windows 7 (English) with Service Pack 1. X17-58996.
