Apc Infrastruxure Manager

1/22/2014 8:02 AM Hi. When I follow the below procedures for resetting password, I get some enquiries as follows. 1) Connect a laptop to the InfraStruXure Manager Hub and make sure it is assigned an IP.

By which Cable? 'LAN to LAN cable' or serial cable 'DB-9 to USB' for connecting to a laptop? 2) Using a paper clip or similar item hit the reset button on the ISX Mgr. 3) Verify that after the reboot you still have a valid IP on the laptop and log onto the ISX Mgr using admin/apc within five minutes of the reboot I suppose the cable used this time is by 'LAN to LAN cable'? Also, the default username/password is 'admin/apc' or 'apc/apc'?

Apart from that, I found that if we cannot reset the password after following the above procedures, it means the SSL certificates is expired. (By referring to the link below.) In this case, how can I check the expiry date of SSL certificate of InfraStruXure Manager by connecting a laptop into it? Any suggestions??? Your input would be greatly appreciated. 1/22/2014 2:27 PM (in response to Enor) On question 1.) this would be a cat5e/6 network straight through cable to the APC LAN port directly or do a switch or hub you have attached to it. You're basically adding your computer to the APC LAN as if it were a monitored device so that you're on the same network as it and so you can log into it. The APC LAN has a built in DHCP server.

On 3.), this relates to the clarification on 1.) since you'll be rebooting the ISX manager. I believe your laptop or computer should keep the DHCP lease during the ISX Manager reboot so it just asks you to double check you haven't lost your DHCP TCP/IP settings from the ISX Manager. Also, have you tried both admin/apc and apc/apc? I haven't done this in a while but I haven't heard any complaints that the instructions are wrong.

Apc/apc is typically what we use on other devices but I'd try admin/apc first. If you cannot access the ISX manager because you have the expired SSL Certificate issue, which every ISX Manager did have, you will need to turn your computer's time back to before the date when it expired and you'll be able to access it.

I believe it was sometime in June, 2013 that occurred so you can turn it back to some time before then and it will allow access. If you need the procedure to fix and update the SSL certificates, your local technical support can provide it to you once you are able to reset your password.
